I can relate to Alice and her passion for her discipline. I think learning and advancing in science is beautiful because it brings you closer to the truth and in a way closer to god.

Action. Law is definitely relatable to academics and extreme version of a successful student who is too into the prestigious academic world, has no life outside of it, is overly paranoid, delusional, and competitive. She is making herself go crazy. Good hook on the apples

I wonder how much of mirror Alice is to Rebecca. Alice is very desperate to have this illusion of what she believes what a successful life looks like. but behind the scenes she is facing a lot of obstacles that impact her mental health while she convinces herself its not a big deal. How many smart people deal with this? What are the consequences of this mentality?
