I'm returning to this book after having to read through and dissect some of it in my English 12 class 3 years ago.
It's hard reading through these stories...
they're sad and hurtful.
The pain of centuries and recent decades of racism really shines through these pages, bleeding into my heart.
I can only work through a few stories before I have to pause and take a break from this heartbreak.

After reading Careening into the Headlights on p. 91, my heart just couldn't take reading this book anymore! It's too painful. I felt anger, sorrow, and grief; I could see a bit of myself in Kevin Henry's story, though I'm 100% white bred.
I may be mistaken, but I'm looking to read The LGBTQ+ History Book, as at least my heart can find some love and happiness before the arrival of Christianity to take it all away X_X
