I've been reading this book on and off (mostly off) since I marked this read. But since I've started watching ばけばけ「The Ghost Writer's Wife」, I got the itch to give continue with giving this a proper read.

The writing in this book is absolutely beautiful. The descriptions of people and places are very vividly written, and the insight into traditional Japanese folklore and religion is so interesting.
