Addendum to my previous update, I do like how the main character’s stringency is called out and dealt with in the story, pretty swiftly too. At this point in the book, I think he’s down showing off for the most part; at least, in the few instances where he gets his golden moment, I don’t feel grossed out by it because yeah, he’s well within his power to do something like that. Like, fair enough man. And they keep the fact that he has flaws that he can patch up with quick thinking and wit. He’s probably one of the more interesting protagonists I’ve read in my life, and probably the only arrogant one that doesn’t piss me off while reading his POV lol
