Now a 3rd incident arson fire at senator's home with a dead body in the garage. Who is behind this? Kate reminds me a lot of Detective Sergeant Sam Holland from Fatal Affair, clever, intelligent and wanting to do everything her own way. Her former commander is now an FBI agent assigned to the case so she has to work with him which aggravates to no end.

Although she's kept it to herself, she's always had deep feelings for him. After he saved her in a bombing, she couldn't face the fact that she caused him to be injured so she got reassigned. She thinks he hates her for his injuries. He, however has always been attracted to her and that's why he went out of his way to not show any preference to her but to protect her from the blast.

Started this on Kindle but then switched to audible. Kate is former military and now works as a protection agent. After a near death car bombing while she is covering a senator, the FBI is called in. She then finds that FBI agent is her former Commander.

New to me author Kate Howard series book 1. She is female personal protection agent.
