The film is my favorite part, hands down. "Starve a Rat" would win an Oscar, easily

Metaphor sure and sound. A permeating sense of places dark and deep, betrothed to the hidden shame of one's own shame. Desperate. Loving. Hateful and misplaced. This book is doing things to me. The Palace at 4am awaits my stuttering progress, my uncertain steps.

A dark room lot only by streetlight. A dog in a leather jacket and sun glasses. Absurdity and sex. Filth and memory.

I read 75 pages and it felt like 25. I love the sad tonality of it. The atmosphere is as thick as the air of a sauna. Brooding, dark, spiritual but not religious, elegant and mercurial. Everything I look for in a novel. And the digital artwork only adds more depth, a wider field of vision. No wonder it won the NBA year before last.
