i do not like villehardouin's chronicle. at least joinville's had the anchor of his personality and the focus on his experiences but this one is in third person and feels to me like an endless list of names

a return to this. villehardouin's section is written in third person but heavily features himself and I don't know how I feel about that

I DID IT!! i'm adding on half the appendices to this page total because i'm not going to read those and then i suppose next weekend I have to read the other half of this. yayyy:/

not going so well.....i have read 10/60 pages i was supposed to read today. maybe i can get 20 more and just do the other 30 tomorrow but i don't want that to be the case. 4 more chapters. then next weekend i have to read the other half

i may be going crazy but I feel like him going up to the king's bedroom to look out the window and be emo and the king coming and putting his hands on joinville's shoulders and asking why he gave different advice than every other nobleman in france kinda has a little je ne sais quoi going on
