it’s kind of amazing how a good novel makes life feel so much more magical. i hate to make comparisons between this book and my own life, bc i know the novel takes a really dark disturbing turn… but the way wharton captured falling in love for the first time and a first love is just so real and accurate and magic. and her description of needleton and how magical it is for charity reminds me of why i love the city
