Oh, I am loving this book- a retelling of Cinderella from the step mothers perspective. In this story, she isn’t cruel, she is a mother doing what she must for the survival of her daughters. When her first husband dies, and his family plans to marry off her daughters to men in a distant land- ages 8 and 10, she plots to remarry herself, to keep her daughters with her. We would all do the same.
