I really like this book, but it is difficult to get through. The story and the characters are intelligent and intriguing, Count Fosco more so than most. And I still love the "love affair". But reading Frederick Fairlie's record of events is making my hair go gray before its time..

The mystery is slow in resolving itself and the event I have been waiting for has finally occured. And I do think that this book will end up 4 stars, yet I am tempted to add one more for I'll have finished the book and that is an achievement in itself...

I do think this is a classic for a reason and I am sorry that I can't read on today, because my mind is tired.

Oh, this is just vile! (Yet, a very deep-laid scheme.)

I am swooning at these last couple of pages. The Interim was long, and I am happy he is back!

Count Fusco seems to be the Mephisto of this story. And the current arc reminds me of Jane Eyre. The two people I really come to miss are Walter Hartright and Anne Catherick.

Count Fosco seems to be a skilled pet trainer with all his humans alike.

This is what happens, when you listen to other peoples thick heads over your own heart.

I am invested in Laura's and Walter's 'Affair to remember' and wonder what viciousness Percival has up his sleeve.
