while reading this book I just wrote 2 drafts about lila bard. the section about things a character is allowed to get away with made me think how some people tend to be annoying and say lila gets away with stuff while it's not true. *stomps foot* they just don't know how to spot the moments lila gets punished for her actions bc they have prosciutto on their eyes (also leave me alone it's lila thinking hours)

I found out that people who are highly sensitive and empathetic tend to experience frisson (goosebumps) while listening to music. I thought it was a common thing but apparently not. it's true I feel things too deeply

discourse analysis mention!! tho I think brian paltridge's book better explains what is da more than gee's text imo but well... preferences

a lot of the things mentioned when reading I already do unconsciously but I should write things down or I'll forget

I guess it's time for an adsom reread. not only bc this book advises that I reread authors I aspire to 'imitate' bc I like it. but also bc I wrote a lot of drafts these days thinking about random stuff from the books that I may have said already but it's worth repeating bc I'm studying right

most of the seven reasons of boredom listed here are why I found fourth wing/iron flame lacking (since the author mentioned it earlier as a pop book). to me, it was lackluster. I would never want to write a book like that bc I want to write a book I also want to read as an author (and fw wasn't it as i made clear)

so far, I'm already doing a lot of things this books suggests I do to read as a writer. this is why for example, I don't know how to rate my latest read. I read it critically for the most part due to the contents related to my own line of work. I used to be a passive reader (I still am sometimes) or very emotional but in recent years I tend to look at structure, plot, etc more and aim to do that with my own writing
