When I thought this guy couldn't get any worse, he's not content with DV, let's add SA to the list. The worst part is fMC thinks he's not "forcing himself on her". I'm sorry? He fuckin performs oral sex on her constantly! Just because it's not penetration it doesn't mean he's not sexually abusive. OMFG!

So, let me see... He "regrets" hitting her, and his response is to risk hurting her further? Yeah, that's totally not abusive, bucko. Not.

OMFG! He thinks like an abuser trying to justify himself. It's his way or nothing. He hasn't stopped to think about what she wants, not for a second.

So, he remembers everything but the hitting. He knows exactly how he felt and he knows what he did was barbaric. The only reason he wants to "smooth things over" is that it might be possible to reverse the sterilization that made him angry in the first place.

If this is the DV scene where he was "manipulated", it sure feels more like he showed his real colors. Especially when that wasn't the first time he reacted violently to something that had to do with his own expectations for her and their relationship, and it wasn't the last. Literally two pages after he apologized (as every abuser would) and promised not to hurt her, he tried to attack her again.
