i knew japanese novels often had a tendency to include really mundane conversations / events to make the plot more realistic but my goodness was this a bit TOO on the nose to the point it was boring.

the characters weren't really that likeable and none of them had any sort of redeeming qualities about them whatsoever.

i was going to go into more detail but tbh i can't even be bothered LOL
