Ryder is seriously a perfect match for Natalie. He tells her shit as it is. My issue with Natalie was that she’s exactly like the thing she hates the most, and Ryder called her out on that.
Their honeymoon in Paris is cute though.
This book has so many relationships in one big story. From friends to parents, they all got their positives and negatives.

Natalie was big to say the Desmond men are so horrible and marriage is a trap. But she’s just like her mother… who ran off and left her family. Which was LITERALLY what Natalie was going to do with the baby in her, to Ryder. Natalie is pissing me off.

How have I come to loving Ryder in this book and not Natalie? Also, they’re married now. Which Natalie wouldn’t stop complaining about. Unrelatable.

I love learning about Natalie and Ryders family dynamics. It helps understand how they’ve come to believe in what they do. Ryder’s past involving his mother truly hurts to the core, especially when he visits her grave.
Right now it’s just a dump of information and establishing family members, we’re moving slowly into finding Aunt Love. Also a new subplot of Ryder’s mother’s death being a murder….???

I seriously can’t blame Natalie for giving into Ryder so quick into the journey to England. He has a way with words that even I would fall for. Also, her reaction after going at it, twice, was pretty realistic. Would probably do the same.

“Then amuse me, love. Distract me. You do it so well.” I fear there will never be a man who can charm me like this. I want me a rogue if he’s like this.

We’re off to England! The romance and search for the smugglers/Aunt Love is very balanced so far. I’m heavily surprised with the structure of this book.

“My rapier came within inches of castrating poor Richard, who had the earlier misfortune of falling into the Ashley.” I imagine all four of them just fighting fog demons, confused and goofy.

I seriously love how quick this book is moving yet it doesn’t feel rushed.
“I will not stroke your vanity, sir!”
“Ah, Natalie, there is much of me I would love you to stroke.” COME ON!!!
My gosh Ryder is obsessed with her, he’s overwhelmed with the thought of her and literally calls himself demented because of it.
Preach for Natalie, she really is a headstrong, confident and motivated woman!

Natalie needs to find her Aunt and keep her cousins business afloat. Yet, the Desmond line of men seems to such completely and she’s forgone marriage because of it. Crazy.
Ryder, you’re funny. “Put that satisfied gleam in my eyes.“ I VOLUNTEER!!
Natalie and Ryders agreement is very interesting, I’m excited to see what they can do for each other.
