this is supposed to be a book about hurricanes and yet i've had to endure more nausea-inducing writing from the perspective of a mother fetishizing over soft baby hair while she's actively dying in a hurricane. I HATE BOOKS ABOUT MOTHERHOOD.

honestly, it's an instant turnoff, if the blurb says it's an exploration of motherhood i know it's not for me. xP

But EVERY time I pick up a book on motherhood the writing gets so bizarre.
