we are slowly but surely entering the part of this work where edmond will exact his agonising and justified revenge upon all who wronged him but we haven’t reached that point quite yet and it’s like knowing something is coming and shaking with the anticipation for it while trying to pace yourself in your reading lest you skip ahead just to get there

find the play at appearances in this work very interesting bc albert is born of two catalans who lived all their youth in a small catalan village amongst their own but he considers himself to be french with quite the conviction and considering his father to be spanish apparently… idk, identity is such a central theme here. who are you? where do you come from? what is your story? why are your hands so cold?
