Despite it all…..I do like Junie and Violets relationship. They genuinely love each other and always give each other the benefit of the doubt. Their friendship is one of the bright spots in this story about plantation life..

My, my, my..how a boy can change her mind LOL…..funny how NOW, since Junie has met Caleb, she all of a sudden wouldnt mind going to New Orleans….up until this point she has did nothing but stress about the possibility of having to go and leave her family

I just began this book but what I’ve already noticed is that it’s missing the slave dialogue. The missing dialogue is really a big miss ….the story doesn’t feel authentic.
