I’ve seen multiple reviews complaining that the setting is confusing because of the anachronisms, particularly when guns show up. Meanwhile, on the very first page: “Stories muddled together easily across London… a boy raised to eat on a trencher and sup on mead could rub shoulders with a lad born under the shadow of coalsmoke and industry.” Like ok explained
