I figured it out. The constant recapping of facts we already know is taking me out of the narrative when I’d rather just stay in the present moment with the main character.

I maintain my assessment that I keep getting fed redundant information. It’s just like — why are we repeating this AGAIN?! Also couldddd really use some more world building. Like majorly. But the relationships with other characters are shaping out to be better and more interesting than before, as is the romance — way less Stockholmy so yay!

This is setting up like a Stockholm syndrome book, I’m really hoping that that’s not how it turns out
