Strangely enough I find the tone of this book unfortunately patronizing, but I think it has to do with the overt expressions of how “I was a victim” and “I’m sorry you went through that”. There’s just something about this compassion that drives me up the wall, but again, this is a personal preference. I’d rather someone just lay it out to me what affects me without emphasizing how “sad” my life is.
