This is making me feel so uncomfortable. Why did they have to become tied to the circus in a semi solid state to be together? And there was far too much going on with other characters for the moment to be impactful.

Why has it taken half of the book for the main characters to finally meet?

All of the details are exquisitely written and they bring scenes to life, but so far I feel as though there's so much that's taking away from the main plot and there definitely hasn't been enough of Cecelia and Marcus.
Still intrigued enough to try to finish this, but although is written incredibly well, it's not pulling me in the way I had hoped.

So far it's definitely nothing like I was expecting it to be. It jumps around between characters and timescales, but I'm hoping it all comes together. I hope all of the seemingly excessive backstoroes and details has a point.
Can't say I'm enjoying this yet, but not ready to give up on it either.
