Maybe wasn’t in the proper mind to fully appreciate everything going for this book. I liked the writing, the relationships between the characters and often quite liked the parallels it was drawing to current day Palestine.
It lost me a bit with how much of the book was the rehearsal for the play- I get the name sake, also love how the author used their own Arabic-English translation of the play. Just a bit slow
