This story is killing me.

The resistance just makes me so angry. Helena is literally the backbone of most things and yet is treated like garbage.

This is such a heartbreaking story. Continue to be frustrated by how Helena is underestimated and under appreciated but (nearly) everyone.

This is just so long. I’m still enjoying it, but surely there are things that could be removed/ shortened

I’ve made it to the flashbacks. Already her perceived ‘lack of contribution’ to the war effort is grinding my gears. Wish there was a glossary of terms/ names.

Steep learning curve with the new magic system & world. But it already has me hooked.
It’s been some time since I read Manacled but I’m trying desperately not to compare the two. But I only remember the broad strokes, so I should be in for some plot twists…the NYE kissing and that look 👀
