The ideas provided in the chaoter are nothing new. They are dumbed down for the average American audience. Ubi is only declared in passing and other statistics are nothing new

So finally in this chapter we realize the core notion of the book. It could have easily been condensed in the first chapters, however Ghodsee chose to linger with her usual way. In short sexual economic is a model for capitalism society and glosses over a whole spectrum of other modes of social life. And financial independence makes a better sex life.

Finally reaching to chapter 4 one can see the author's view pointm although providing personal accounts are not interesting for a rigorous study, though it was never the claim of the book, Ghodsee provides some insight into the criticism of views on sexuality in capitalism. Especially she attempts to discredit sexual economic views. This section of the book could have been brought forth earlier in my opinion

It's getting disappointing as it unravels. The author is inconsistent with her position. A socialist who is ready to pop champagne for Hillary Clinton and later vouches for role models for girls, measures the success of women in eastern bloc, ignoring the propaganda and the political context and then her only criticism seems less commodity. As if capitalism had no role for feeding the patriarchs in the cold war

This third chapter is giving me a headache. How can the author who is promoting socialism openly paint this naive picture of the status quo of US politics?? The black president or worse than that the idea of first woman president being Hillary Clinton!? This section truly reveals the problem with the US mindset. The facade, the gestures are far more dwelled than the content.

The second chapter has perhaps more to offer. The author gives mostly a few personal accounts of her friends and tries to find general traits in the neoliberal western countries especially the us, with a focus on paid maternal leave. Although the ideas are of course good, she is kind of weak on her Argumentation.

Targeted for American audience with the hope of enticing the socialism ideas, the book opens with clear arguments regarding the achievement of eastern bloc countries after WW2. The statistics are not all together satisfying and a handful of personal encounters of authors is given. Let's read further
