It’s getting interesting again, finally. It was such a boring read for a while there. Like I can appreciate the dive into the psychology of people in this specific setting.. but when you make the setting so cool and hardly explore it I can’t help but feel bored and disappointed.

I’m genuinely pissed. Why did this take 228 pages to get good? Finally we are using the creatures again. Finally we have some survival action again that isn’t just “run from the man with a gun”. The writing seems to have improved too. I wish this was the vibe 200 pages ago.

The character motivations for their reckless and tragic actions are failing to make sense to me. I feel we’ve spent not enough time with these people for the seemingly 180 personality changes to make sense. I’m sort of left in confusion rather than gagged / entertained.
