Kaz is genuinely one of the most annoying main(ish) characters I've ever had to deal with in a fantasy novel. He's arrogant, annoyingly overpowered, and unpleasant to literally everyone around him. I understand that's supposed to paint him as some morally grey badass but it makes his character a flat, lifeless stereotype of what a "morally grey mc" should be. I hate him and in turn am not loving this at all.

This is very meh so far. Why does everybody love it? I don't care about greed being your servant, Kaz, please shut the fuck up.
