i just realised that out of the 275 pages left of this book, about 120 of them are the appendices lol man really was a historian for his own damn universe. i respect it but i also admittedly will not be reading the appendices i do apologise mr tolkien sir

i’m about to say something that feels illegal but i have to speak my truth and that is… i am bored. i cannot deny it. this third book has been a slog to get through so far 😔😭🤧

and that is book two finished!! my god, what an ending! 4.5 stars!! only a few days before my loan for book 3 arrives and i can finish my journey alongside sam and frodo aaahhh

and with that, my first reading of the fellowship of the ring is complete! what a journey. really enjoying listening to the audiobooks narrated by andy serkis as i read along with this behemoth of a physical book. 4 stars! now to wait for my library loan of the second book to come in…

tell me why this book is trying to tell me that THE aragorn, son or arathorn, is some scary and ugly looking being when i know in my heart of hearts that he looks like this (insert gif of him opening the doors at helms deep) 🥰🤭😍

finally going to meet tom bombadill! as a huge fan of the film adaptations it is so interesting reading the books for the first time. soooooo much is in these books, though i’ve got to say so far the content that was left out of the films truly was not needed lol
