Returning to this one after a long break doesn't really change what I've been disliking about it until now: that the characters are poorly developed. Even after halfway through the book, I can't bring myself to care about the characters and whether they live or die. It's honestly the myth that's still keeping me reading. That being said, Yasen and Zarya's friendship is growing on me a little.

I'm not sure how I feel about Zarya's constantly drooling over the two guys she just met lol but it's pretty fun reading a fantasy with South Asian myths involved!
