Pamela Bronson I think it's great - I'm up to p 40 by now. I've learned so much about Deborah and Benjamin Franklin (to her credit but not to his!) I have enjoyed learning about Eliza Lucas Pinckney, who not only raised two sons who became prominent politicians in the early republic, but transformed agriculture in South Carolina by introducing indigo as a crop and working hard to establish it. Now I'm learning about Mercy Otis Warren, who believed that woman's sphere was the home, but that as long as that was under control they were free to also try to transform political thought and foment revolution. (Her husband loved her writing and backed her up.) She wrote plays even though she'd never seen a play and public drama was banned in Massachusetts! They were to be read rather than seen and were very unkind to Governor Hutchinson, who probably deserved it and then some. My only complaint it that it's too exciting and sometimes upsetting to be a good "blood pressure book" - the book I read to keep calm while taking home BP readings. I've switched to a teen fantasy novel I've read before.

Kimberly That sounds so interesting! If I can’t find the book, I'll try to look those women up.

And, oh dear. I'm sorry about that! ☺️
