Omen is the word women with one letter missing.
Interesting - witchy concepts are almost always associated with femininity.
I wonder why that is?
To demonize the feminine. To rationalize control, abuse, and persecution.
Omens are often negative - a black cat crossing one's path, breaking a mirror, the evil eye. They're positive too - the four leaf clover, a butterfly in the home, getting pooped on by a bird.
