Ok I picked this book back up but so far I feel like it just keeps repeating these same three narrative tactics:
1. “My wife is distant and aloof after going deep in the sea ugh”
2. Main character once read this book, describes said book, relates it to something about the present day, then says a super deep line about the world
3. Goes on about someone else in their life that’s irrelevant to the plot
