Hello Severance... Hello Jojo Rabbit... Hello Get Out...
Not really much to say with this chapter. I think it does give a lot of vocabulary to be able to describe stuff I've already been thinking of, which does give way to easier analysis. But like uuuh idk I think I'm starting to lose steam here.

This chapter really dragged on. Its only saving graces are 1) Many Everything Everywhere All At Once references and 2) Discussion of The Social Network's score, which was made by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of the rock band Nine Inch Nails, which is prwetty fweaking epic...

Haiiiii Train To Busaaaan

This chapter was a great deal longer than the previous ones, but it was with good reason, considering it needed to go in-depth on 6 entire genres. And also analyze The Lego Movie. I'm glad that it's getting the academic attention it deserves because it truly is a banger of a movie.

Unfortunately the book peaked with this chapter. Experimental AND animated films discussed in the same chapter? Those are my two favorite kinds of movies!!! I also find the section header "What About Anime?" really funny for whatever reason. And I know the book was literally released this year but it has no right to be so topical.

Eighth Grade AND Donnie Darko mentions AND also The Last Of Us again LET'S GO!!

I have little to add from my comments on the last chapter. I just mainly find it interesting to see things that I've already been thinking about all laid out and organized. I analyze movies for fun, so thinking about form isn't really new, but the vocabulary and depth of analysis is helpful for making better analyses (analysises??).

Media I recognized: Spider-Verse, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Squid Game, Get Out, Star Wars (duh) ((and Andor... teehee))

This was just an introduction, and I'm also already accustomed to thinking about movies so it was nothing groundbreaking, but it is interesting seeing these ideas laid out. Plus, I've gained a newfound appreciation for the craft of Star Wars movies.

Yes I'm reading this for college IT STILL COUNTS!! I'm kind of excited for this though bc I looove thinking about art and how it's made. AP English still resides in my bones... itching to... analyze...
