With the immigration issue in Chicago, I am taking my mind off the troubles here in the city and reading about some real troubles in Belfast once again because I’ve read this book before.

I have a hard time with the idea of two sects Catholic and Protestants being at odds with one another’s religious beliefs. I certainly wouldn’t have taken my anger out on the streets of Belfast or Londonderry. The rants of Ian Paisley against Catholic is what I’d like to delve deeper into. Like growing up in Chicago at a very young age I was hearing slurs about Jewish people. Not really knowing why?

Have this on my Kindle. But for some reason wanted a copy of the actual book. So I borrowed a copy from the public library it has photos. Stopped by the Irish pub where my little sister is a bartender to show it to her. Later that day she called to tell me to come back over there, as she had a customer in from county Mayo! I went over and had a Guinness with the the man.

This is a slow read because of so much detail put in. I was just going into Schurz high school when I became aware of the troubles in Ireland. And having some Irish genes??....it's been in the back of my mind all these years. And after reading the first hundred or so pages all I can say right now is I'm excited about this book the author knows his *^#@
