The ending is a little ludicrous and also unnecessary: being a parent of an infant is horror enough. Between the physical pain, the risk of death and disability, the risk of postpartum depression and psychosis, and the rolling illnesses, it's grueling. Add on top of that sleep deprivation that would be a war crime if committed intentionally, and it's basically torture.
