I feel like I’m not at a point in my life where I am cultured or experienced enough to enjoy or dedicate the amount of energy needed to understand this book so I deeply sympathise with people who were made to read this in high school. The racism doesn’t help as it adds to a list of reasons for me to stop reading

I definitely didn’t set myself up for the best reading experience because I have a week to read 20 chapters for book club and I read it at 7 am on my way to work before my first coffee and on my way home after work
