Kind of relieved that they investigate Susie's case more than they do in the movie. In the movie, Lindsey and Jack know that it's Mr. Harvey and they just live with that. I'm glad that Susie was never forgotten and even neighbors and friends are still investigating her death a year after. BASICALLY DOING LEN'S JOB FOR HIM BECAUSE HE'S TOO FOCUSED ON SLEEPING WITH A MARRIED WOMAN!

Didn't expect Susie's Dad to realize it was Mr. Harvey that murdered her, so early on in the book. I feel like in the movie at least, it took a minute for him to pick up on how unsettling Mr. Harvey is.

The audacity of these teachers to bring Lindsey into an office to express condolences, then immediately ask her if she wants to be captain for their soccer team. Wow. Just. Wow.

Honestly the grief might kill me. I can't imagine being a parent and losing a child in such a HORRIBLE way. The anxiety/anticipation of not knowing where your child is and learning, slowly and painstakingly, that your daughter is no longer alive would kill me. (Also-in the movie they find her hat and assume the worst! The book?! Wild.....)

This is going to hurt me but I've been wanting to read this book for ages. I've just been too scared to. lol
