I don’t know the last time I had a book crush this big. But good gosh do I have one on Derrick.

Making some progress. Emma is quite simply, just a delight. Her extended family…..I don’t know that I would voluntarily choose to be around some of them. These ‘houses’ good gosh do I want to be able to see them the way they would look during the 1890’s. Okay, I would love to see them now too. Side note: eating spaghetti while reading a book is not nearly as easy as eating spaghetti and listening to a book

That made no sense at all, but I am sticking with it.

Finally getting into the book and it’s past my bedtime (it’s a very early bedtime🙄). But yay for being able to read a little bit tonight. A few more pages won’t hurt though, I suppose. I think I shall also note for myself that I have a guess, and an alternative guess as to who the murderer is. Based off of nothing….probably should wait for a few clues to develop! And sweet Jesse wanting Emma’s help 🥹

I wish paperbacks came with read aloud options. That’s asking a bit much though, isn’t it?!

too worn out to hold and read the book right now🫤. So very frustrating when all things don’t cooperate and let me do this more easily. Hopefully soon because I do enjoy when I am able to read an actual paperback or hardcover and was loving the last couple of weeks where it had been easier.

For a moment, Hope Stanford/Mrs. Stanford became Mrs. Stanhope. She is back to Mrs. Stanford further down the page. I had to flip back though to see if I had missed a character. My eyes/brain combine or see words incorrectly time to time, nice to know it wasn’t me this time! Shoot, what is this, the 4th progress thingy and I am only on page 37…sorry ahead of time folks!

Aunt Alva is, well, a bit terrifying 🫤.

Picking up literally where we left off in book one. Same morning and all. Miss Emma needs some rest! It’s been a busy bit of time for her! Oofta.
