Page 2 and I am already hungry and wishing once again that I had an Aggie of my own! Hopefully my eyes and body cooperate so I can at least make it a little bit through the book. It’s been waiting for me for over a week, I think.

Not exactly sure how far I have gotten with this, but I am going to take it off my reading shelf and move it to the may come back to it shelf. I don’t think it’s meant for people with multiple chronic medical conditions that limits them. 🤷‍♀️. So glad so many have gotten so much from this book though😊.

I am not sure if I am remembering the killer correctly or not. Guess I will find out in a couple hours if my memory goes back that far with random things.

Read this years ago (no rating or review, like with many of the books I have read prior to 2025🙄). Listening to audiobook this time. Fabulous January LaVoy narrating.

Same narrator as The Enemy, but he sounds a bit different in this one 🤷‍♀️. Easier to listen to in this one for some reason. Who knows. Perhaps it’s the storyline too.

Rolodex. That’s the word I couldn’t think of earlier. I wanted to use that instead of address book.

How does he have all of these numbers handy. It’s 1992 and he was given orders while not at his office or wherever he works out of. I am going to pretend he had his address book along with him so it makes sense in my head and I don’t spend a stupid amount of time stewing over this. 🙄.

So we go back to 1992? Not forward in time from the previous book? Okay.

Some of these character voices remind me of a weasel 🤷‍♀️. I don’t actually know what a weasel sounds like though. But that’s what comes to mind. So my mental image kind of reflects weasels as well🤦🏼‍♀️.

They started drinking coffee at ages 4 & 6?! Wow that seems young to have acquired the taste for coffee. I am one of those who loves the smell, but can’t stand the taste. Plain water, the occasional hot chocolate, sprite 2 or 3 times a year, and body armor every now and then. Wow my beverages choices are about as exciting as my life 😂🤣.

Thus far, I haven’t noticed any of the annoying sounds from Hill like I did in the Bosch books. But….he is still not my favorite and some of his character voices are annoying. But I might make it through the book in less than 3 months! He gives me a different impression of Reacher. I picture a smaller less intimidating man than with Bricks narration. Funny how narration can affect that!

I am liking this Hannah character. “You’d have the irs so far up your ass, you’d see them when you brush your teeth” 😂🤣.

Oh geez….i don’t like this. Poor kid. Shoot.

I’m kind of confused. There seems to be a lot going on (and okay, I dozed for a tiny bit within the first 50 minutes) and I am not exactly following all of it. But….i am not going back because I doubt I would be less confused. Just gonna go with it.

Does this kind of thing actually happen?? Asking from my bubble😂

So far, I am into this one more than the previous one.

“Some sports start stupid early” true words. I have a 7am game coming up. Mornings have become a struggle for me, but the 11 year old has had so few games in town this season, that hopefully I can get my butt up and go. Which means I have to talk my dad into getting up early to take me! And of course I like to be there early to get my preferred spot😂.

Still hanging in there, simply because I am too exhausted to read my paperbacks and the only other audiobook I have at the moment is the book after this one (again due to narrator). Too tired to look for another audiobook. And well, I am slightly curious what the whole point of Shorty and Patty is. Sometimes I wish abridged versions of books were available😂.

I started this book because of the narrator and I am continuing the book because of the narrator. The story itself is rather boring. Not terrible, just not really moving along. I have no experience with this series other than a season of the tv show which seemed to have a lot more action.

Yes, I realize I am starting in very late to the game with this series….but I am basing it on the narrator. I did see one season of this free somewhere so I am a smidge familiar with the character. But this choice was based on the narrator.

Interesting factoid, at least to me. According to this book, (in terms of animal fur and assuming it contains a root) ‘most cat lineages aren’t distinguishable from one another’……’if it’s a dog hair, then the lab might be able to determine the breed.’ I wonder why that is.
