Something fishy is going on with this arrogant author!! He doesn’t even have a book published yet is making all sorts of demands at this small town book festival like he has had ten number 1 best sellers in the last year. That implies that authors with a bunch of number 1 best sellers are arrogant. I didn’t mean that they are, but it was the only analogy I could come up with! Sorry authors!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Start of chapter 11: some of these characters are a bit (okay a lot) annoying. Might have to skip ahead. Not really fully into this story.

I thought I had the culprit figured out a while ago, now I am questioning it…..yet I still just can’t put that person out of my head.

I knew it.

I must say, some days I truly miss messaging on here. I don’t miss the unwanted, spammy messages, of course. But the lovely ones I shared with some people about books and other such things. Sometimes I really do miss that feature. I wish there was a way to bring that back in some capacity. Perhaps someday. 🤞. Hint hint GR decision makers 😊😁!

referring to people by their first name in one sentence, then their last name a few sentences later is also adding to my confusion. I just spent at least 20 minutes going back and forth trying to match characters up correctly…should have written it down instead of trying to remember. I should have Clint Austin down by now. But I still sometimes think it’s two different characters. Ugh self.

Still enjoying, but having a hard time keeping track of who is married to who and all of the other people from when they were in high school etc. most seem shallow, fake, and not extremely likeable. Which doesn’t make it easy to differentiate them from each other!! My suspicion is still the same from earlier. With maybe one more person involved to some degree.

I have a guess. I am probably completely wrong. It’s based on one sentence that I am unsure if it was a slip of the tongue or not. So far enjoying this one more than the previous two books I have read by this author.

Had I gone two pages more, I would have known that my line of thinking was right along the line with Allison’s😂🤦🏼‍♀️.

I have my suspicions about an earlier incident. And I have one about this new development, when it was first briefly brought up, but now as it’s brought up in more than just a little mention, thoughts are shifting. Now I have two theories. Curious if either of them end up being correct.

I missed quite a bit not having read/listened to book 3…oh well.

And withholding evidence!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!! Girl, come on.

Siobhan is a smidge annoying in this one. She isn’t an officer. But definitely acting like she is and has all of the advantages that come along with that.
Also, some of the characters huff and puff quite a bit and that comes across in the narration and my ears are not liking that very much🫤. Darn ears. Why can’t you just ignore stuff other people don’t even notice at all.

Have to pay close attention at times to fully understand the accent. But wow it’s a fun accent!! If I talked like this, I would talk out loud to myself all of the time just to hear how awesome I sound. Smidge of a slow start, but I really like the main character, so I am going to continue on and see if it picks up.

I guess i momentarily forgot my name was in this book because hearing it just startled a dizzy burst from me when I flinch/jumped.

It could darn well be almost anyone at this point! I have a guess, which is probably so far off base. My original guess I think is wrong because that would have been almost too obvious/convenient.

I am probably not the right audience for this book. There is absolutely nothing ‘wrong’ with it. I don’t really like books that involve war and such. I will try again another day to get a bit further/farther into this.

Why are grown women constantly referred to as ‘little girl’ in this book? Is it a Nashville thing? Or a 2008 thing that slipped my mind? It weirds me out. Kind of like the puppy nickname🤦🏼‍♀️.

I have a guess. Curious to see if it is anywhere near close to being right.

Why does she call Marcus ‘Puppy’ it’s been twice now I think. I believe he is the youngest on their team, so maybe that is why. it’s going to overly bother me🤦🏼‍♀️. Makes me think of when little kids pretend they are a dog and you say ‘here puppy’ and they crawl over with their tongues hanging out, you scratch their heads like you would a dogs, they fake bark, and you say ‘good puppy’
