I don’t like the way the author portrays bipolar disorder. I didn’t in the previous book(s) it was mentioned in. I can only think of one person that I know who was diagnosed with bipolar (not sure which type it was) and he was such a funny and kind well liked and loved person. I am confused, did we go back a month in time from when the last book ended? I hope what happened in the epilogue of the previous book isn’t ignored. That would be odd. Guess I will have to be patient and wait to find out.

In regard to my previous update, I googled it because I wanted to be told this doesn’t actually happen. What I am referring to is not a real life ritual like the guy said it was in some countries. Thank goodness. Oh my gosh. But dang Mr. P where in the hell did you come up with such a grotesque idea. This went so far beyond I don’t even know what. Watch me get reported for looking it up or something🙄.

I have read and heard a lot of awful, horrible, disturbing, disgusting (you get the picture) things in books, but I have never heard of this and my gagging and dry heaving right now is not from my normal basically every day nausea. And this is something done in some countries apparently or was done, I hope it’s not anymore. How does someone even think of it? wtf. Honestly wtf.

Oh no, Hillary Huber has not been pleasing to my ears in recent books with her narrating. Did not realize she was the narrator when I put this on hold. Wish my ears luck getting past this!!! 🤞. I don’t think I used to have an issue with her, but then all the sudden, my ears wanted to cry. Which makes me feel bad.

So far so good.

I am not sure what to think of this. 100% didn’t anticipate this turn of events, but I am not sure how I feel about it or how it is presented? I don’t know. The narrator has a nice voice so I will continue. And points for the unexpectedness. This might end up being my review 😂

I am frustrated. So many inconsistencies from book one, which I just finished. I am not sure if the intended age group would notice these, but at the same time, I want to give kids credit and think they would at least pick up on the fact that April’s parents were going through a divorce in book 1, but apparently still live together in this one. especially if they read the books back to back.

Finally getting into this a bit

Audiobook. Narrated by January LaVoy. Kind of the only reason I am listening to it while waiting for books I have on hold to be available.

Trying to ignore all of the backstory I am missing and just go with it. My fault for jumping in a series so late, but January LaVoy!!!! And the premise sounded good. This Janet, used to be a real person, but now is an AI algorithm …it’s a bit odd and confusing because she seems so life like. And it’s kind of eerie and creepy and I don’t know. She is treated like a real person by a lot of people it seems.

What a bizarre drinking game. One in which I would not participate in ever. I don’t want to be judgy or anything, but if a drinking game (though I haven’t had a drink since my pots diagnosis because it can make symptoms worse) involved cutting me with a knife, I would politely walk out of that party and never go back there. To each their own, but that does not sound like fun to me at all.

There is a character named Memphis and the majority of the book takes place in TN. not going to lie, a couple of times it has thrown me off a little bit🤦🏼‍♀️😂.

My usual nitpicky self has returned.

Thank goodness…so far starting at book 5 isn’t really an issue.

Head injuries/concussions….hate hearing about them. The long term effects can be devastating. Cause so many issues. And I work so hard to avoid getting another one. (Over 2 1/2 years!! Since my last syncope) but for real people, take any head injury seriously. Lecture over😁.

Not gonna lie, I would be ecstatic if I didn’t come across a tarantula. Though I would never ever go out in search of them 😂.

How does this 19/20 year old young, young man know exactly how to respond to Ellie in a way that makes her feel safe enough to sit beside him?

Wisconsin statute 944.16(2) is…..interesting. So of course I googled it. WI is one of 3 states where adultery is a felony. I didn’t know that it was in any state. But it is rarely prosecuted (in WI, unsure of the other 2 states.) It is punishable up to 3 1/2 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Even if one party is unmarried, the law still applies to them.
