It’s been clear that grabbing the staff has already affected Cally but now that he’s identified it we can extrapolate that the vibe is off because it’s eating his remnant, based on the description of this item’s last user turning into what is presumably a Blighted. What I’m not clear on is why his remnant doesn’t seem to be regenerating to put him back to normal

Maybe it’s because he’s carrying it around, even when not in use? The regeneration from a partial drainage was pretty fast when it happened in the prev series, although obviously a full restoration is a whole different ballgame

Okay no wonder early series Gladdic was the worst, the Mallish priesthood is literally a crazy person pipeline

New information suggests the artifact is perhaps stealing the trace instead of the remnant, now I’m intrigued what happens when the trace is depleted since we never fully got to see that in The Shattered Path
