this curiosity about the pronunciation of 'shakespeare' reminded me that one of my italian profs in hs (who didn't know eng) used to call him [shespir] whereas my english prof used to mimick the words 'shake' and then 'spear' so that we would learn new words lol for whats worth I pronounce it [shekspir] so more AmE than BrE

there was this kid in the class who kept telling me 'you can't be english, your name is concetta' (the kids don't know where I am from) and ugh I wish they'd written either tweety or titti on my badge because I hate my birth name so much. I literally forget that's my name, won't answer to it

downton abbey mentioned huh yes ofc they could've checked if some expressions were anachronistic (considering how julian fellowes is known for accuracy in the portrayal of society etc in his period dramas) but I think that unless one is a linguist, people won't notice. so I am all for some poetic license here
