There's so much love for women, by other women, in this book, platonically or otherwise. As someone who grew up being mean girl'd, I really love this. We should have each other's backs, you know?

The trees are so chill and accepting. Why can't humans be like that, huh?
Also really liked this part: "Flesh. Her skin and bone limited her, falsely classified her as something she abhors. None would listen to her pain and struggles, so she forged her own body, her own future; the world itself be damned."

I know some people who'll be taken aback by the more modern sounding language in an otherwise
epic fantasy world, but I like it? It feels more accessible/relatable.
And are these the dryads? I love their descriptions!
This is also the second book (to my foggy new mama memory) that uses xe/xer for pronouns. I DEFINITELY need to diversify my reading!
