The way the Immerwahr piece wrote about this problem is so frustrating. Perpetuating the idea that deepfakes aren’t yet a serious issue because they haven’t caused any significant political crises? Debatably not true but even if so what about the thousands of women who’ve been victim to this kind of violation? Do you think they’d say this isn’t a problem? Of course they wouldn’t.
