The drama! Agh! I’m literally shouting, “oh no!!” and “Don’t trust him!” to my book. But the characters don’t listen and so they get into trouble!

I have done the unthinkable. I peeked at the back of the book to see who Alice marries in the end, because I was so distraught and my emotions can’t handle it. Now I have some peace of mind, and I can continue reading with some small measure of equanimity in my heart. Don’t judge me! I was getting really upset in this chapter!

Geez, this is like some insane Victorian telenovela/soap opera! The dramaaaa! 😅
