Okay fully thought Bridie was Birdie for the first half I read oops. Emma Donoghue is so good at creating an atmosphere and really immersing you in it. It's crazy how descriptive this is.
The no quotation marks is kinda odd and makes it a bit difficult to tell thoughts vs spoken aloud but not too big of a deal
