Someone tell me this gets better. Feels like it’s gearing up to be another Kristin Hannah book where I hate all the characters, wonder why I’m still reading (at least I know it’s book club this time) and still find myself ugly crying at the end.

I just want to know the mom’s backstory. I already dislike the one daughter. Empathize with her? Sure, but I just feel like she is acknowledging problems and making decisions not to fix anything. Feels repetitive.
You also just instilled zero confidence that I will happily make it through this book. 😂
