Huh. I knew that this book was not what one would expect based on the cover copy–I've heard enough about it by now–and yet... it's still not what I expected? At least so far?

Also, I imagine the bit with the onset of the pandemic hits MUCH differently "post"-COVID than it did in 2014. For me at least, instead of horror or shock I just felt... resignation and dread. Like, yep. I remember my first pandemic. *sigh*
