1. Weird that I'm reading another book where the FMC is named Lily.

2. Having said FMC ditching her friends to try and join the "popular" kids was not remotely endearing. That she is still harboring hurt feelings about her rejection by those "popular" kids ten years later is also not endearing.

3. Here's hoping Tobin is a delight...

Awwwww. Even though I know Oliver isn't The One, I'm so proud of Lily setting up a date with a stranger. Go, Lily, go!

So far, this is cute. I like the setup and the premise, and the characters seem sweet and likeable. Not "hooked" yet, but I have a good feeling about this one.

I am so very tempted to stay up and read this whole thing. But, I'm being good. I'm going to sleep and not inviting a migraine because I'm ravenously reading this book.

Well. I already liked Axel, but now I've learned he drives an old Jeep Wrangler????

Huh. I usually dislike first person RomComs (idk why), but I already really like Rooney. I haven't even met Axel yet, which is usually when I lock in to a book, but this one already has me more hooked than my previous read.

I can't tell if they just keep referencing conversations they aren't having on screen or if I'm just not committing any aspect of this book to memory...

Okay. This is MY FAULT for reading book 3 in a series w/o reading the others, but! We have hit the part where every couple and side character from the prior books must be on page. These names mean nothing to me. There are like, 8 people in addition to the prior couples and I just... Do I need to remember Rob? Is he important? Can we get back to this book's couple?

I'm not giving up yet, but this book is on thin ice. I am struggling with the female protag's incompetence. She's supposedly doing "everything she can" to make her business a success, except then this man (who I do like so far) comes in & shows all of the very basic things she has not done to help her new restaurant succeed. Like... what???

Also, so far, their chemistry feels forced. Fingers crossed it gets better.

Yeah. I think Vuong is just one of my favorite writers. I can't get enough of his work.

Off to a rough start. The salad shop conceit feels silly, esp. when Hailey continually proves she hasn't thought this through. What do you mean you don't have business cards? What do you mean you haven't done much (or any) marketing? What do you mean you're the only person on staff? And then when she takes a delivery she says she'll charge a fee, then refuses to accept it? Girl, is your business failing or not???

okayyyyyyyy. I'm sorry, but getting through an unexpectedly explicit sex scene at 69% through the book is objectively funny. *sam reich voice* a ridiculously horny amount of points to Kaliane Bradley!

Oh, I should have started this sooner. One essay in and I can tell this isn't a book to be rushed through. This is a sipper.
