At the end of Part 1, I was close to putting the book down for good. I knew this book was meant to be brutal as many war stories are, but I really could not mentally take more of what Part 1 had to offer. Part 2 eased me into the horrors, but now I’m at a loss. More and more the main emotion I feel is exhausted by this book.

I was trying to finish this before a trip this weekend, but it is going to have to wait until next week. I continue to be amazed how repetitive the plot for this book is. It's just slight variations of the same plot point over and over again. I watched Andor season 2 earlier this year, and I keep thinking how can I like someone like Luthen or Kleya and but not Helena? Hmm.

Not sure what to think thus far apart from this being wordy. I see some breadcrumbs on where this story could go and idk if I am happy about it. But hey I've read the blurb for the original fanfiction so it's my own fault tbh since I already knew I wouldn't like that potential plot element. I just hoped it would disappear lol.
