I was just complaining about there not being pauses or something to indicate a break between short stories in another book and here I am feeling annoyed with how long the pause is between chapters here. In my defense, there’s no need to know if I’m in one chapter or another when there’s a continuing plot.

Yikes, I shouldn’t be this excited by people running through the woods and trying to climb a fence. Maybe it’s just the cheesecake but suddenly this feels very Golden Girls.

She had no friends? That’s a harsh thing to say about your mother who was living her own life in her own place and you rarely interacted with her despite living in the same town…

She’s doing accents, I can appreciate that, the author is a decent storyteller.

Eh, the author reading the book, that can be iffy, especially when it’s not a memoir or autobiography
